In Australia 1 in 60 people have hepatitis B or C. An average suburb street could easily have 24 homes. On average 2.5 people live in each of those houses. So, there are 60 people on that street. Based on the statistics, one of them would have hepatitis B or C – and may not know it. So we could say one person on every street has hepatitis B or C.
This is what we can do. During Hepatitis Awareness Week we can distribute information about hepatitis to letterboxes on our streets or the next street if you prefer. Click here to see what we are distributing.
The bookmarks will be distributed between 17 May and 31 May. If you would like to join in this movement – the walk will be good for you, and your liver! – send us an email with the following information:
- Name and address for us to post the bookmarks to you
- Suburb where you will distribute the bookmarks
- Postcode of that suburb
- Quantity you wish to distribute.
